洛根布伦纳 joined the Barnard faculty in 2019. She is a paleoclimatologist (someone who studies past climate) interested in reconstructing past oceanic conditions using the geochemistry of stony corals. She graduated from Skidmore College in 2012 with a B.A. in Geosciences where she studied stalagmites (cave formations) to develop a history of 降水 in Yucatan, 墨西哥. 她获得了博士学位.D. in Earth and 环境科学 from 哥伦比亚大学 and the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, where she studied coral geochemistry with one project focusing on the hydroclimate off the Pacific coast of 巴拿马 and another on the changing sea surface temperatures in the Great Barrier Reef.

Logan’s research interests currently lie at the intersection of climate and environmental science. She is a geochemist that studies past climate change in tropical regions. She applies these same methodologies to answer questions about modern coastal conditions. Her current projects involve studying the geochemical composition of coral skeletons to develop histories of ocean temperature, 降水, 盐度, and coastal factors such as river discharge.
